Default Antenna Install W/ Pics and a Question

I got some questions about the antenna install and figured I would post some pics of the install. Also, I'm getting ready to install the CB and was wondering if I can splice into the brown power wire under the steering wheel. Any thoughts?

Not sure about the brown wire, but can you plug into the fuse box? Maybe if you could hook into the stereo fuse it would turn on and off with the key.

Never plug into a wire. Go direct to the fuse box at the battery so you don't screw up some other componet plus it will make for a lot quieter CB

I have pics of my install. Power runs from the battery and inside the truck through a rubber grommet in the firewall. Near the battery are a few ground connections you can connect to.

Interesting this is, I tried a spare wheel mount for my CB, but could not get a good SWR reading at all !!! even added 2 additional grounds, 1 to the roof and 1 to the chassis, still no good !! [:@] so gave up and use a mag mount now SWR reading of 1.2 with that

UrbanPanzer, you should try a NGP (No Ground Plane) CB setup. The ground is in the coax itself so there's no need to add any grounds. I got my NGP antenna through Firestik.
