Default Radio code not working

My battery had died and now have an error code for radio. I have used the code before with no problem, but this time, it won't take the code. Any suggestions?

I'll let you now next week, my 04 is doing the same thing after battery dead. Audio store guy told me to unplug it for at least an hour then plug it back in turn it on it should take the code I can't get mine out of the dash to unplug it so I disconnect the battery for an hour or so and it still didn't work. Tool here next week to get it out and try again.
I don't like disconnecting the battery any more than necessary.

The battery in the radio is dead, leave the radio in the on position for the next 4 or 5 days and see if it will recharge so you can then enter the code.

I don't understand why some trucks lock out the radio and some don't. I can't tell you the number of times I disconnected my battery (for extended periods of time) and never had to enter a code after reinstalling the battery connections.. Just curious, why is this?

Mine has been on ever since I got it and have never been able to enter a code sometimes it says CODE and others it says WAIT . Maybe my battery is bad. Will find out this week I hope.
On Disco Mike's signature there is a place to send it to get repaired, If I can't get mine working I may try them.
Let us know what you find

I pulled the orig radio a few weeks back The radio had been worked on before and was dead again. I had put an aftermarket in the 99 so I put the 99 orig radio in the 04 and it works fine. They are cheap at most salvage places so If I need another I will get a salvaged one instead of paying to get it fixed. Or get an after market. I like the Aux channel on the Aftermarket so I can listen to my phone or XM. But the LR orig looks better.
