Default using cargo door speaker wires for 10" sub?

I have a 2000 disco II. I'm wanting to remove the two speakers in the cargo door and use the wires that where going to them to hook up one 10" sub woofer. Can I use the positive and negative wires that went to one of the cargo door speakers and just connect them to a sub woofer since i'm removing the two speakers anyways?

I would appreciate any help.

It will work. The OEM wiring is pretty light gauge stuff but if you are using the stock amp it isn't an issue. You will likely be less than thrilled with how that setup will sound though because the stock amp isn't very powerful. Nothing you can't fix after the fact though!

If you did this, I would get a dual voice coil 10 and hook up both pairs. You would have to fab a box.

I would think you would definitely need a amp with better wire running to them.
