$200,000 budget for Defender 110 or 135 build, what would you do?
It's really not as a dire of a situation as you are making it. Just having a little fun on a public forum. Like I said you came out of the gate hot. So throwing some back at you. I honestly expected a less serious jostle reply. We all work like hell building our trucks here. I can think of maybe a handful that pay someone else to do the work. So when some guy comes in bragging about his extravagant budget to pay someone else to oversee paying other people to build his truck...I felt the the need for a little hazing. I can shut up.
I apologize for any offense given. Officially. I didn't realize you'd take it so seriously. Not sure why my age keeps coming up. (You're wrong btw)
I'll pass on "consulting". Some things are not worth the money.

ok its not called hazing but "trolling", and no one likes a troll
My suggestion if you feel the urge in the future, for the sake of the Forums reputation and others that are not into trolling or hazing as you call it, is to do as you say.. shut up
I'm sure there are more than a "hand full" that have paid, and I'm pretty sure that if I've taken an FJ down to the frame and put it back, drove the Rubicon 4x and made onsite repairs with my welder, I'm not considered a green horn. I just know there are others that do what I need to better, and I don't mind paying.
You should consider also that there are shops building up defenders that would not appreciate your attitude either, and those shops are potential advertisers of this forum. If you value this forum, and the webmasters and administrators that allow you to be on here.. once again, do as you say and shut up or say something like;
"Welcome Phil, glad to see you are interested in having a Defender built up. We all love them here, and I'm sure we can help you with some advice"
Doesn't that sound a lot better than posting an image referencing how big my ***** is? As far as your age goes, I was just assuming you were juvenile due to your actions, if you are older than I really don't get it.

Wow you are a real douche. Not used to the common folk not kissing ***? Am I to be amazed and bedazzled by your budget? I must have gotten the memo. I retract my apology. I must have hit a nerve. I'm done. Have a great day.
I guess your sensitive now lol, can't take the heat step out of the thread. Don't feel bad, I've been putting trolls in their place since 1995. I'm betting you'll never do it again.
Administrators, no need to thank me it was my pleasure.

In all sincerity, is this being built with a particular purpose in-mind?
If it's just a cool watch; that's fine, but I'd guess the Defender experts will need to know if you are going to be overlanding, shipping to Africa for safari, or just cruising down the strip.

Copley's 110's are being sold for around 130ish now so 200 isn't outrageous for a custom built NAS110, depending on what you're having done.
I think the previous advice to try and narrow down the purpose for the build was most likely the best you'll get on this forum.
There are some premium builders out there to consult. In fact I think that Nene Overland currently has an unmolested Lhd Camel Trophy 110 for sale that would make a unique vehicle.
If you're really looking to do something fun, have you thought about a Pinzgauer, turned into an over lander/ camper? You have some awesome country out there to go get lost in, if you're based in Vegas.

Your best bet for that level of a build is northwest rovers or ECR. STAY AWAY FROM ULC (Urban Land Cruisers).
ECR is already doing the LS swaps and has a good reputation.
As a 110 owner i would scrap the linex crap and go with a quality paint job. If you want the rough and ready look go for a matte military style job instead.
Oh and would you two take a deep breath and let it go.

Kevlar coatings are great, I leave Jeep JK outside in the Vegas sun and have no worries.. take it into the desert, dirt does not stick, I wash it maybe once every two months but it looks fresh every day, people love it.. and it looks killer. But to each his own.
Thank you for the feedback from everyone, I have chosen one of the recommended builders and they have already started to order. I've decided to go 110, and as far as purpose.. it's for pure fun. I won't be going anywhere but shooting in it and the occasional trip to Tahoe. I'll get my enjoyment purely from owning a machine that was hand made by some individuals that love to build amazing Defenders.
