1995 RRC LWB 25th Anniversary Edition
There is something to be said about an auto while wheeling. No roll backs or moments of lost trans control for added security while making tight turn-arounds, with drop offs front and rear.
Oh very much aware of the draw backs. At this stage of my life it's mostly street driven with a few day trips and an annual moab trip. I think I'll take the potential draw backs for the fun it'll be ripping around town. Also good reason to push on an underdrive solution, saw a guy adapting a 1339 borg unit to a lt230 which caught my eye. Also may be looking to fit a blower similar to the cameron concepts only with a significantly better IM solution...which would be far better with a 5spd.
Successful junkyard trip yielded an og RTE front bumper, CDL linkage (for green D2), Top portion of shifter for R380, pedal box assembly, dizzy, and a rear tire swing out to adapt to my white disco. Will try and go back next weekend to pull the trans itself and see about grabbing some og $gard sliders and rear diff may have a detroit locker in it. Too bad all axle shafts were stock and the nice GBR rear driveshaft is damaged..
finally made some tangible progress, got the driver rear door cut that I had measured out over the summer. Time to get it sealed and prepped for paint sometime hopefully soon. Pic of RTE bumper, need to have it stripped so I can paint it before mounting it ideally.

It looks like what you removed is pretty much where the inner and outer skins still come together. Should be easy to mend them together. Are you going to try and roll the edge?
Is that bumper just painted...or powdercoated? The bumper l got from Bill (aka...slowest 110 builder in the world...lol) had an almost rubberized coating on it, started stripping it...but it turned into way too much work. So, l just cleaned up the worse spots and blew some paint on it. Figured it was going to get all scratched up anyway. Plus, l didn't want to spend the proper amount of time needed to do it right...and then end up taking over the proclaimed title of "slowest 110 builder in history'...lol. Which, with these 110's...it is a never ending story anyway.

Based on how it's kind of bubbling but not peeling I'm kind of going powdercoating, either way for $100 can't argue with a straight RTE bumper. We all know it's just surface rust lol those bumpers are borderline invincible.
Doors probably should have left a little to try and roll some, that would have been smart, maybe on the other one. Very much cut past where the two skins join, wasn't super concerned with getting them sealed up but somehow rolling that edge skipped my mind...
