Yep, the old girl was getting mighty tired. Time for an engine refresh...and l just couldn't see putting the time, expense and effort into her. Plus, l hate to sound like a women...but l just never liked the color...lol. The clincher was...told my wife that and she said..."Oh, l like that color."
Okay, game over...lol.
But, seriously...always wanted a gray Dll and one kind of worked it's way into my life...so the swap/change-over has begun. It's an SE, so it has some of the sound deadening materials in the doors and body...so that quiets down the road noise...a lot. It's unbelievable how much warmer it is inside too.
Do you still have the passenger side rear plastic from rear door to bumper?
No, and actually...that got torn off on my last wheeling adventure...go figure. Grandson and l drove back too one of the two places l figured it got tore off at...and yes...l choose the wrong one...l guess l need better odds than a 50/50 chance...lol.
Saving this rover was already done once. It got two years from me, when it was destine for the scrapyard. Her frame is bad, the engine was drowned first trip to Ohio wheeling and cylinder bores look like the Rockies, every body panel has some sort of damage, the inside was barely fit for human beings...and right from the beginning...l said she would never be sold again and her end would be at the yard. They can not all be saved. Everything and anything of value has been removed, so part of her will live on within my 03.
She's loaded and heading for the yard Monday. I'll remove the wheels once they have her in the air.
Her last two years were probably her best, wheeling, exploring and getting well deserved attention. Goodbye old gal.
