The LED bulbs have come along way good to hear you find a set that is solid.

Yeah they've definitely improved!

Today I started the tear down process to install the 04 CDL linkage. I learned a few things from the last install on my Kalahari so the silly rivets on the plate were the first thing I attacked. It was off the truck already (grabbed the new plate when I got the CDL for 18.00 at the local LKQ Pick N Pull). I then modified the 04 unit to work with the 99 design of the interlock solenoid. I just removed the entire interlock solenoid from the 04 setup (very easy once ya pop the C-Clip out). I then changed over the shift fork from the 99 onto the 04 and it's now good to go. I ran out of daylight and time as my wife wanted to get all the Christmas stuff up in the house this evening.

I've got the CDL bracket installed on the TC and connected. All I've got to do is re-install the 4hi/N/4lo shifter assembly, install the breather line, put all the electrical connections back, install the pre-prepared shifter plate (using #14 1/2inch screws vs stupid rivets), install the 4wd shifter, the gear selector, and the interior bits and I should be good to go.

Well I finished up the CDL install this morning. Since I already had installed the 03-04 SLABS Unit when I did the suspension lift and removed the rear SLS it was pretty quick and painless. Works pefectly and it only cost me 40.00 total (Slabs 22.00 & the 04 CDL config for 18.00).

Next upgrade is going to be some ARB LED Aux Light knock off's on the roof rack.

Yeah I knew the local LKQ had an 04 in stock, and I was like no way the CDL is still there lol. Well someone had tried to rip the center console out, but apparently didn't have a drill with them. I ran to my van grabbed the drill and went to town. Only thing that was tough were the two 10mm holding the bracket to the transfer case. A man was nice enough to loan me an extractor socket and his impact and bingo I was done. I grabbed the shifter boot, metal plate, linkage, and the **** for 18.00. I was going to grab the SLABS unit just to have another spare, but it started raining so I left it.

I also grabbed one off of CL for 25.00, but it has a small rip in the CDL cable cover. Works perfectly fine so it's my spare.

That's a good score on both of them

I also grabbed an OEM LR Dog Guard at the junk yard for 5.00, however someone took all the mounting hardware and left the actual guard vs taking the entire thing lol.

Old Faithful is going to be fitted with an early Christmas gift today. I’m going to retrofit a D1 ARB Winch bumper onto it today!! Best part about it = FREE.

I’m just giving a friend back a ranch rifle we traded each other years ago in exchange for his D1 non airbag compliant ARB winch bumper.

Yep, the D1 bumper sits about an inch lower vs the D2 ARB unit, but I'm not worried about it. It's installed, and he even had a spare set of PIAA Fog Lights that plugged into the existing PIAA wiring that Old Faithful already had minus a pair of PIAA's lol. I was in LR heaven at Austin Roverworks near Austin, TX with my friend and his buddies. I had a good time, got my D90/110 LR fix, got an ARB Bumper, and I had a blast seeing my friend.
