Old Faithful is getting a unique upgrade. I've finally tracked down a D1 Transmission Pan, and dipstick tube. I got the tube supported and bolted up to the bell housing. Tomorrow I will drop the old pan, filter change, connect dipstick tube to the D1 pan, fill, and call it good.

Yep finished it up this afternoon. Now I can check the fluid level the old fashioned way.

Was just binging your build thread and I had a quick question - My steering wheel is thrashed at the top and I really like the look of that cord that you have over it in one of your first pictures. Do you remember what type of cord/string you used/if you used any fancy method to get it to stay? Love how your Rover looks!

Just normal paracord & I used the axe handle wrap technique. Thanks for the compliment! She's a great D2!

Grabbed a pretty unique LR Tire Cover from New Orleans, LA the other day. It's brand new and never used. It's got the usual LR logo at the top, and the location of the dealership at the bottom, but it's got a GIANT mosquito on it vs the usual Lion, Rhino, or Elephant. Fits SETX to a tee with a giant mosquito!

I was inspired by your paracorded steering wheel and decided to do it myself! With the help of my far more crafty girlfriend, we finished the job in around thirty minutes, definitely lowered my average on tasks on this Rover... It was a bit of a relief honestly with this head gasket job that started out as spark plugs We followed this video when doing it:
It looks way better than the cracking mess that was there before! Thanks Best!

No problem I was told if you pour hot water over the paracord it tightens up a bit. I honestly love how it feels and if anymore OEM D2 steering wheel leather on the top/bottom bites the dust = paracord time no doubt!
