Default Cargo Door Fold down table/plating

Im thinking about removing the interior paneling from the rear cargo door, and going with a diamond plating panel along with a fold down utility table... any ideas on how I should start? Im assuming most people just remove the panel and sort of trace everything to get the proper fit. Any know of any build guides, or have any advice?

This is how mine is done. Use Rivenuts for mounting the diamond plate. Sourced a couple grab-handles from the wrecker yard and mounted them above the table (also using Rivenut for mounting).

I used a metal cable for holding the table. In hindisght, I should have used a non-metallic rope or canvas strap (to prevent rattling when off-roading).

Wing nuts were used.

I also used rubber bumpers to cushion the diamond plates to prevent rattling.

Smittybilt i-Rack (spare tire mount) to hold the propane tank. This give easy propane access to the cargo fold down table.

I-Rack 2 - Smittybilt

The iRack also holds a Smittybilt jerry can holder, my Scepter water can and Thule bike carrier.

Depending on the type of wheeling u do, its been my experience thus far with my rover, weight or things sticking off the *** end is a bad idea , when u come down off a ledge its a lot of down force momentum if u understand what I'm describing

If u just flat land then go for it

Unless you plan on walking on your cargo door I'd skip the diamond plate and go with aluminun and save some weight.
