that sucks, I'm gutting a house now and the list of "upgrades" is always growing on the new design. The double edged sword of doing it all yourself.

 

Totally relate to that. There is so much mission drift in the project already. I don't recall removing a door and drywalling the opening in the original plan... FML

 

Just got around to setting up my new BaoFeng UV-5R ($38 CDN including shipping) and can't believe how well it works on our local repeater 147.150 +600 which is about 12 air miles away. I'll be keeping this one in the LR3, thanks for the tip!

I'm going to fire up my Communications Monitor IFR FM/AM 1200 and check out the 70cm feature, can't believe this BaoFeng is so good! I have always had Yaesu(s) like the FT-415 , but this thing blows the doors off that 30 year old Japanese technology! Oh! ...sort of like the alleged 2021 Ford Bronco is going to do to the AWD/4WD world... Oh... Maybe not...
