So some updates are needed. I got off my *** and got to work. I went to pick it up from POV storage and opened the door to watch water start pouring out. I learned it has a leak so I will be investigating that.
The interior was swamp smelling and funky as heck.
To top it off no power whatsoever so had to load it dead on the trailer to get it to the Garage that will be it's home for the next few months. Which of course has a steep driveway so I had to off load it in the backyard. Tarped it off using a ground tarp and a tent rain fly.
I didn't want to tarp it but rain was in the forecast so I wanted to make sure it didn't start to refill

What followed was a couple days of shop vac work pulling a ton of water from the floors, a dehumidifier running around the clock and a box fan. Pulled the battery and ran the NOCO charger on it to make sure it was happy.
On day 3 things were looking pretty dry but disgusting inside. So I popped the battery back in and she fired to life. It seemed no more unhappy than it used to be so I quickly made a bee line to the garage.
What do those rino rods do? Will they work along side the air suspension or are you replacing with coil?
Actually, the first LR we ever looked at was a LR3. It drove nice and had a good feel to it, but we missed out. Then my wife decided she liked tbe Dll better, look wise, so we went that direction...and maybe she thought l needed something to do with my spare time...lol.

The Proud Rhino rods lift the truck 2.5 inches. You swap them out with the stock height sensor rods and up you go. The goal with this one is to stay air suspension. I have the lift rods and the SYA kit to handle the lift, so the 33's will go right back on no issue.
Having owned a DII and a LR3 I like the LR3 a lot better overall
With the LR3 in the garage and out of the elements we left the doors open for the night to let it air out. Bad call it still stank and now so did the whole garage. With it seeming dry enough to work on we took stock of what the interior looked like....
It was a bit rough in there so we rolled up our sleeves, broke out the warm soapy water and magic erasers and got to work.
So after much scrubbing we were happy with how the leather looked. So we put the dehumidifier back inside and called it a day. We came back the next day and sprayed the carpets and undersides of the seats down with a vinegar water mixture to kill any lurking mold. Waited a bit and sprayed it again. Than treated the seats with Leather cleaner, and conditioner. We then called it a day again.
This was before the cleaner/conditioner. We added something really cool from the guys at Knightsbridge Overland next that I have been dying to see in the truck.
I think these sliders will get the job done how about you?
Proud Rhino LR3 full coverage sliders. Solid and extremely well built. Also the boxes in the corner are a pair of dunlop air struts from the gent's at Lucky8.
So my daughter has been helping out with the work on the LR3 so I have been really enjoying the time together. So this truck has horribly failed clear coat on the roof. 95% will be covered by the roof rack. So the last 5% we decided to paint the area satin black to blend the roof line in with the fairing on the rack.

So here is a bit that I had been waiting for since Christmas. My dad had ordered me a set of seat covers from www.knightsbridgeoverland.com as a gift since the front seats were pretty tired looking and the armrests looked like a Honey Badger had made sweet sweet love to them.
They are and extremely well made product, repel water and should clean up nicely after a weekend on the trail. Even more of a plus in my mind is supporting a small business that makes their products in house. Definitely take a peek and see what they have to offer. The cover pretty much the full range of Land Rover's.
Installation was super easy and very straight forward. I still need to tighten up my install a bit as I wasn't sure if I was going to leave them on but I knew I wanted to see what they looked like in the truck. I couldn't be happier with how they look.
They also add a few extra handy pockets at the front edge of the lower cushion and on the side of the seat back.
hmm those do look good, might have to look into this a little more seriously if I don't find a set of front seats for the D2 with working heated seats. I could not be lazy and fix them and then pick up these covers!
