My guess would be lighting as well.....I'd go under the hood or into the garage and see if it light up yellow/black......it could actually be power and the yellow is lighting. They all didn't come with the 3rd wire in that era, that I'm sure of.
Hard to see, but it looks like your speakers are common ground? I can't count the wires.....

THOUGHT: Did the car you removed it from have a power antenna?

Black is common ground......get your ohm meter out........Your only question mark is that 50 shades of gray wire..... Wire in a fuse before connecting if it's a concern...

If it doesn't work, there's some great vintage, aftermarket era correct on ebay....Some pull big bucks now a days, been watching pricing for a couple years now over there...

Yeah I have a vintage digital with tape deck and they unplugged the harness, left the radio **** me off

The Pyle radios have horrible reviews, the vintage audio brand not much better just more expensive, neither have tape deck( I know who wants tapes) what can I say I have some old mix tapes lol

There is one other I can grab at my buddies place so will see how this goes

OK radio works, won't fit dash, shafts are too close together and not adjustable, dash is steel so I am not cutting it

Wire color, black was ground, yellow hot, grey was the light

DING DING DING........ehhhh, scouts called it first.

Too bad about the shafts.

Yes, those Pioneer's are pricey now, high end restoration's with after market upgrade offering much better sound quality remaining era correct, is the clientele.

There are 'lesser' brands, new in box over there as well.

A buddy's father sold his old CB/Radio shop about 7 years ago in Jersey, had ton's of old stock, new in box......Don't know what became of it but I remember drooling over the inventory......
