Looks like that is sorted (fingers crossed).

Moved on to trying to pull the stereo and I cannot get that damn thing to pull out of the dash. I tried the homemade tool detailed on LRRF but it doesn't seem to want to let go. Stupid communist radio....

Anyone know any tricks?

I had one play hardball like that. It turns out there is a strip on the radio that is supposed to keep the dash from rattling or something. Sometimes it folds up a bit and glues the radio in. Maybe pull the hvac out, if you can, and with your third or fourth hand, put pressure on the back of the radio while trying to use the homemade tools?

I'm lucky enough to have small hands, so was able to put a few fingers into the cassette deck and pull from there also.

I tried that but it felt like I was going to rip the face of the radio off. I'll get it sooner or later. Trying to decide if I want to work on that this weekend or building the roof rack and installing the brush guard with lights.

Yeah, do the fun stuff first. File folder inserts for the stereo removal....guessing that is what you are using. I have had to clip/ file the tip a bit to get it to work good

Yeah that's what I was using. I'll just have to fiddle with it.

I crossed the 150k mileage mark yesterday as well.

Not a half bad idea, might try that on the way home. I'd really like to get it installed this weekend.
