I'm forwarding a link to this thread to a friend who is researching trying this exact type of retrofit, can I ask what brand of CANBUS adapter you used, and how did you read the CANBUS messages? I have access to some laptop software for network protocol analyzers, but have never thought of CANBUS, so it might be a very rewarding challenge. Thanks in advance...

I'd have to do some work on my diagrams to make them presentable and understandable. It's not a plug and play harness since you end up tapping into a lot of the wires going to the stock ECU.

I may be a couple years away from LS swapping an lr3, but I hope that you stick around on the forums so I could ping you with the question or two when I do get around to it.

I responded in this thread about a year ago, and since then I ended up buying my first lr3, which is currently on jack stands getting frame rust repaired and all new suspension, brakes, and an overall refresh on everything else. I bought it to get familiar with the platform. Once I feel a little bit more comfortable with diagnosing issues on it I'm seriously thinking of picking up another one with the relatively common 'bad tranny' or 'bad motor' on the cheap with the intent of swapping it.

Just wanted to keep the conversation alive and the communication channels open. I really admire your work in your build thread.

An LS swap seems so perfect for an LR3. Solves the only thing I don't love about our truck. Curious, what ever happened to this particular swap.
