Default Making spark plug wires

Ok... I know when asked what is the best spark plug wires for a Land Rover, people on the forum quickly respond... "Magnacore"!
But.... has anyone made their own or bought other brands of spark plug wires that are 8.5mm, 9mm or 10.4mm in diameter, lower resistance per foot, heat treated silicone boots and wire assemblies and used them successfully on their Land Rover?
I'm looking for other options though I have 8mm STI cables on my 2001 Disco and I've never really like Magnacore cables because their quality practices have diminished over the years. I prefer Taylor or Moroso wires from years of using them on clients cars with no problems.
I hope all will chime in on this.
Cheers...

Have been very happy with 8mm Kingsborne for several years now.

I was thinking of modding the Taylor 10.4mm wires but I decided the cheap route a buy some Titanium 1800 Degree Spark Plug Wire Heat Protector Covers for $50.
I'll post my results.
