think we have the a/c leak fixed I removed the rear a/c hard line that runs in drivers rear wheel well since it was soaked in uv dye and removed the insulation, found that the aluminum line had 2 small corrosion spots once cleaned is appeared there was a pin hole in one of the spots

the corrosion was half way down the line basically centered over the spring perch

I had bought some aluminum "brazing " rods from harbor freight for another project so since I had it laying around and no replacement line we cleaned the line good and heated the line and "brazed" over a large area of the line covering the corrosion spots

had a friend pull a vacuum and it held -5 lbs. so we charged it and seems to be holding charge for a week now

still stuck on high idle

Was told a Bosch alt off a 4.0 will work in place of the french piece of crap we have on the d1

Got one off a 99 d2 but it has no tach lead, dropped it at the alt shop I use he will match it up with my spare French and thanks he can easily add the tach lead so I will have lots to do next week when I return from work

Gonna hopefully add d2 alt, d2 door gaskets, replace ecm and Plenum to fix high idle, replace bad window switch, replace disc changer

I need a better spat for the factory disc changer, somewhere it will not get wet, ideas?

Productive day swapped in d2 headlights and d2 door gaskets doors tight now, swapped Plenum and ecm swap fixed high idle ,
https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=60202

swapped cruise switch on pedal hopefully that works now, a/c still blows cold since above repair also rebuilt vss today, and these don't include the real work I did today

And now it seems another french alt took a crap 12.6 volt output got a bosch but alt shop did not get to add the tach lead so it is in VA rover in n.j. ugh

More progress, welded on used front diff guard, bolted on used reasr pinion skid plate (thanks for those Ian), we also moved the steering damper, simply cut the bracket off the rear tie rod and welded it on the front tie rod then made a flat bracket for the frame and bolted it together, cost $0 had it all laying around the garage/shop like 1hour of putterin round

I positioned it where I did cause looking at pics I found here from another person when I held my damper in place it looked like there could be a chance of it hitting my long oil filter on hard suspension compression
