New Life for '98 Discovery 1 "Project Pig"
Finally got around to replacing all of the plugs and wires this weekend.
Also cleaned up my IACV to see if this would help with my High Idle issue.....
Still have a high idle, in fact, its now even higher than before.
It was idling around 1500, after the tune up and cleaning....now idling around 2000-2200. Guess i am back to the drawing board.
IACV before cleaning...

After cleaning...

I was suprised to see this.
I wondered how this pig ever ran as well as she did before new plugs...

My temporary wire loom fix till I find a better holder for the 8.5 wires..

Well I hopefully resolved the high idle issue with this Discovery.
After many hours of research and talking with people, I was going over everything again to see if i could find something.
I came across this broken throttle return spring.
I played around with it and forced it closed with a little pressure, and she was idling as normal.

So I have been searching CraigsList for some Discovery parts / donors and luckily came across a couple close to me. One is a 97 D1 that is complete with good body, good glass and a rough running motor. The same guy has a second Discovery that has been dissembled.
If I am to start wheeling and dealing with the guy, what parts should I be looking for. Are there some items that I should get to have on hand even if i do not necessarily need them now?
I am already looking for a throttle return spring and hopefully he still has them on the dissembled discovery.

Yeah, I found this today....

I was trying to open up the sun roofs to see if they would work and air out this truck. Of course, they didnt open up so I started to search for a blown fuse and came across this.
Now, looking at the manual, it could be either Engine management or the Anti-lock braking.
It is not clear in the manual which is block is Satellite 1 or Satellite 2.
The other thing thats throwing me off is the fuse amperage. The manual says that should be a 10amp fuse, and there is a 20 amp in there now. Also, see image below, it shows that a 20 amp fuse is supposed to be there. Manual says one thing, sticker shows another.....dumb
I know I should replace the fuse, but should I go back with a 20 amp, or a 10 amp? And what is this fuse actually for? My guess would be the Engine management, but it seems to me that I would have seen some effects of this fuse being blown.
