Default Oil Filter Numbers

For those who are interested... I spend a little time the other day at work making a list of the the oil filters we can use, both in stock size and extra capacity.

Purolator: Stock L25195 / Extra capacity L40107

Mann: Stock W930/20 / Extra capacity W950/7

Wix: Stock 51068 / Extra capacity 51773 (6.982"lg) or 51515 (5.18"lg)

Mobil 1: Stock M1-204 / Extra capacity M1-301

K&N: Stock HP-2004 / Extra capacity HP-3001

Fram: Stock PH16 / Extra capacity PH8A

NapaGold: Stock FIL1068 / Extra capacity FIL1515

I am sure there a lot of others, but maybe i got most of the ones we would normally use.

Made the list for my maintenance long so I wouldnt have to keep looking up the damn numbers.

I copied the list and posted in the "Discovery Series I Tech Section" under the "Engine Oil and Filter"

I noticed when i went to open that link, it was under the Discovery II section....I hope that these filters will work for both DI and DII

Default The war on roof leaks....

I hope to finally resolve the sun roof leaks permanently....

My first attempted worked for a little while, but the water just cannot get out of the drain tubes, so I now have decided to seal them up for good.
My sunroof motor rebuild sorta worked, but i think that it was just too far gone to call it a successful repair. So instead of messing around with them, spending money to replace the motors, seem like it just made the most sense to just seal them up.

Here is what I did to seal them up.

I ran a bead around the roof where the sunroof shell will sandwich between the roof. I then ran a bead around the shell and then around the glass.

Havent done much with the Disco lately, mostly due to holidays and work, but i have been working on my first tig welding project.

I built a cargo rack for my dad years ago for his Xterra and once I got the Disco, I wanted to build another one.

I am pretty excited about this project and should be pretty awesome when i finish it up.

This is also getting my tig skills down so I can start designing my bumpers.

Here are a few pics of my progress for the rack. More to come in the next few weeks.

I have been kinda bouncing around from different project and made some progress on the Headliner shell to prep for painting.....

Needed to remove all of the old glue....a stiff brush seemed to work well for this..

Now just need to do some final brushing / sanding and can clean for final prep before paint.

Default cargo rack test fit

Made some good progress on my new cargo rack for the Disco.

So far, I am pretty happy with the way it has turned out.

Just need to add one final gusset / brace and then weld in the expanded metal for the "floor" of the rack itself.
