Awesome congrats DD! This motor really turned me around on ownership of a D2. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. Sorry it took so long. I found out first hand that during Tornado season is a very bad time for production

Enjoy!

I loved having a disco before the engine, now I'm proud to have one haha. The motor turns fuel into noise and torque. It's properly majestic.

Well you just fixed up the whole truck.
Enjoy it for a while.

Off roading has it's risks..

These guys are off roading experts and seem to have damage to their
vehicles afterward.

I have this to break while offroading... I ended up getting it about 6 months into the engine install. I may have an offroading problem.

OK so here are the pictures of the winch and how I mounted it.

First I had to get two longer bolts for the bottom of the winch. They were half and inch longer than the ones that came with the winch. I drilled holes about 3/4s of an inch below the mounting holes for the fairlead and used the longer bolts to secure the fairlead.

For the limb risers. I used 8 1/8inch saddle clamps, 14ft of 1/8 steel line, 2 6 inch springs, 2 6 inch turnbuckles, and 2 ubolts that mounted around my roof rack.

I had to bend the springs around the turn buckle like this

Using the saddle clamps I secured one end around the bumper and using the ubolt through the turn buckle I secured that to the roof rack.

Next up is mounting the lights, CB radio, hi lift and pioneering gear.

That looks good. You may consider some type of rubber lined pipe clamp/or ? to give you some more height from the hood and protection to the bull bar on the front bumper.

Yeah, I've since spray painted the springs and turnbuckles black and wrapped the line with electrical tape. And black spray paint laying around is way cheaper than plasti dip. The electrical tape is easy to take off so I can re apply the zinc coat when I need to.

On a side note what would yall recommend for a hood black out coating?

I use the replacement decal from Rovers North. I am not a big fan of the plastic coating except for the cost savings...
