Why not keep the jack under the hood?
I gained space by ditching the cargo pocket and recessing the subs into the door. This effectively adds 2-3" of floor space in the cargo area.
All the storage in these things is vertical. The more use you can make of that vertical room the better.
Build a shelf abour 8-10" off the cargo floor. Store all your tools, spare parts and more under the shelf. Then you still have the space on top for everything else.

I like the pocket u made, I did like fish works well and cheap, I also dropped the jack and kit into that right side pocket in the cargo area, out of sight but I can get to it and stands up perfect there, since it is plastic filled with fluid

 

Fish........I did that prior to the trip (shelf)....We felt we actually 'lost' room by using it......removing it & repacking the truck proved we did loose room, a lot of room......Fabb'ed it from 1" 14ga tube steel, 1/4" veneer on top.......it's taking up space in the shop, need to cut it up.


Jack up front......I really don't want to go under my hood if I need a jack.
I want that space for a new air cleaner when I get to that point.
Rather have that 6 lbs in back rather than front come time for a winch, if there was room, or if it was a trail rig my battery would be in the rear as well.
Jack was found to be almost unusable when removed, pump linkage was rusting in place from lack of use.

plus on all the DII jacks i find under the hoods are junk, I think the heat get to the seals.

 

Not much of a tease, never got a rise outta Jack.

 

Simply an area of the truck I wanted to address, no major time or expense involved. Laid in 2 coats of Flex Seal last night to keep things quiet, carpeted the interior of the new area tonight to keep it even more quiet.....


Jackfm.com is pretty cool on most days, try that for a rise!


Found another part of my dirty girl that needs attention, will get to that later.


Ammo box showed up in very nice condition, will get to that later as well.


Anyone know if there are rear door replacement hinge 'PINS' available? My lower is showing wear, might be easier to just change out the hinge but I can't locate one. Interested in a lower if someone has one as a paper weight kicking around.......
