Need to be honest.........
My oil gage light is now on when I start the crack head.........
It's been sooooooooo frick'in hot here for the last 6-7 weeks..........like equal to Caracas off South America which, I have customer friends.......

No ambition to do ANYTHING..........Can't eat past 11am, my black shirts look like 4 layers of sweat tie-die at mid afternoon end...F'ing ugly....

Next week looks wet but better!! The South sucks!!! I smell bad and window licking hasn't been an option........on top of that, the D1 hates this heat.....need to move!!

Default All caught up in an evening...

Read the whole thing this evening... Funny because it's true. Only disagreement is that it sucks in the south. There is a trade off for sure... but we do have hospitality away from the urban areas.

I do like your style though... and everything is well put. (I like the cut of your gib) ... I'm glad you converted... and hope you keep us updated.

I was lucky enough to score a rust free '96 D1... It's rust free because it's been garage kept and better yet leaks so many fluids that I can't tell them apart. Reading your story makes me want to document what I find out. I'm more of a talker than a typer... so It'll probably be in Video format...

Just wanted to say thanks... and that you remind me of a friends that I grew up with. Just keep on keeping on...

Clay

He's speaking in geographical terms...... not about social differences.

'Scouts nailed it, I'm speaking geo......I am by no means urban, heck my neighbors are Amish and I can't even get over-night service out here. lol!!

This morning at 4:40am with my cup of coffee, it felt like a blast furnace exiting the house. I honestly got flash backs of my time spent in Texas...

I only bring this up I feel as if I'm being robbed of wrenching time. I've been looking forward to some tinkering, instead I'm either 1/2 ill, soaked in sweat, or just feeling like my **** has been kicked.

Anywho.......Need to roll, hopefully this breaks next week!

Wheel on!!

Ok I really want that sticker.

What oil and filter are you running in the hotter months I had the same issue with the RRC. Switched to a heavier weight oil 20w50 and a Bosch filter and all was well.

I'm totally digging the south, the heat is relative and I have had the pleasure of experiencing much worse temps.

She's due for an oil change, but I've been using the Rotella Synthetic and there's a K&N filter on her.....Oil level is good, might be from the small/sight incline I've parked it on a few times.....dunno. You wouldn't think so but.....

Glad you're enjoying your time in the heat, it's not my thing....not for this length of time doing what I do...

If you are running the 5w40 try stepping up a bit to a 10w30 or if you are really bored 15w40

I go 15w-40 all year round. With your "exxxtreme" heat you'd probably be fine with a 20w-50 racing oil that has ZDDP in it.

'Scout's turned me on to the Rotella, this can't last forever (the damned heat) so I'm going to stick to that......after all, this things been thru 16 states since last fall, some 3 times so.......I'll hang with what I've been doing. I use the 20-50 when there's a FOR SALE sign in the front window.

I think it's from parking on the slight pitch, not a positive thing, but I mean there's dumb.....then there's dumber....

My AC still works, little else works correct, thankful for the AC though!!

Actually got to tinker a tad last night for a bit, swapped out some speakers, hooked up an amp......of course that blew up in my face as soon as connected the ground wire.......REJECTION...

Oh well......should I expect less?

I'm running 15W40 Rosella dino, it's been hot hot hot up here too. You know about the only thing I care about is if it starts, idles, can climb a couple of long hills with a little poop to get me to work and back home. I've butchered the snot out of mine which is ready to crest 200k. I don't care if it's stock anymore, just gotta make it run.
