Yes sir Doug, and she performed flawlessly..........another 1685 miles plus beach time, worked hard on the beach but that's due to my tire selection which I was well aware of in advance.....tires just wanted to dig & grab rather that float and roll.......it's all good though.

Being down there, service went off with out a glitch, everything was very well done........Funerals are 'a lot' of work, really there's little time to grieve until the service.....anywho, Mom is very strong, it went well.

Does this look like an 85 year old woman? Think NOT!
She's AMAIZING!

I was able to pull off the 'distraction' on Thursday and get her out on the South end of Cape Fear. It was real nice outside of the recent storms which made the dune side sand extremely soft, so I had to stick near the sea, much harder, faster, but less fun in the goof off territory.......

It was about 38 degrees on the outter banks on this trip without the wind chill, not a lot of photo's due to that...but.....

Cuizen the shells......

Pretty good score shell cruising...I have more, but these 3 are a pretty rare score....

All n all.....not bad, she worked hard on the beach due to the tires, which might explain being a half of quart low on oil when checked Saturday....dunno, but not super happy about that. I'll check the return results tomorrow..........

Return trip.........North central N. Carolina just below Mt. Airy......Pilot Mountain.....

After being on the road for a week, I can imagine most truckers are even turned off by this........unless seasoned rock guts........ugggg....REALLY?

In closing........Pushed it in deep sand with little to no rebuttal, pushed it to 90mph on the return trip without issue, forced down shifting with out issue thru the Virginia/West Virginia Mountains (NICE!).......For waking something up from the virtual dead.......the biatch still has some legs. Todays goal was to beat the new snow fall, did that with snow in the air when pulling in.....we now have 5" of new snow.

All n all..........Deep down, she's a good girl. Very happy right now.

Thus far in the 'rehab'..........If I had known I'd be cruising 15 states in less than 2 months, I would have changed tire selction to an AT.

Outside of that.........Your all suggestions/maintenance has been great, spot on......while there's still soooooooo much to be done, it's turning into a great ride!

'Thank You' to those who contribute their knowledge .

Yep, they're a breed unto themselves - good all around and get the job done. By the way my Mom loves to go for rides in my truck. She's a tiny little thing, two hands on the windshield pillar to squirt in but she loves the view and surety during the worse weather possible. She can see over the dash too. Last Wednesday evening with her as copilot during a white out she never fussed once, course I have almost no interior so it's hard to hear anything anyways but exhaust, transfer case and wind. We survived, did a little shopping and had a nice dinner about an hour away from home.

lol....I had to shove my mom's butt back up into the truck on the beach, I later heard her say to my sister inlaw.......'it isn't very female friendly'..lol, I let it slide as it's sagging springs have yet to be replaced and come on......your 85 mom...you get into a truck like your climbing a ladder......

Glad you get that time with your mother Doug......pretty priceless and great memories.

Ordered some Stewart Warner 'MECHANICAL' gauges today as well as a pillar pod......I want to know what's really going on under my bonne....I mean under my hood.....for real! I'm old skool like that.......

Oh.....Noticed my gas tank skid/support is now totally GONE......Sway bar now supports fuel tank.....NICE!.....So while I had other plans, guess things changed....oh well....rock on!

Time for a real gas tank skid like Columbia Rovers, if they're still around.

Whoops....almost forgot.....ordered all new power steering lines today as well, I could suggest my current lines are part of my future rust prevention plan........but I'm running out of speedy dry. It's gotten ugly, you know...like the Exxon Valdese....
