Default 3.5 Engine Issues

So I've inherited a project and have little experience with the 3.5's .

Previous owner installed a new camshaft, head gaskets, intake, rockers, and other bits.

Rockers were installed incorrectly and the rods were rubbing on the heads. So fixing that is easy. Thing is the cam moves back and forth a lot. Noticed a bit of a knock at higher temps. It has about .11" play. Is that within tolerance? What is missing? I'm not seeing a thrust washer or button. Is that cam held in place by the rockers and distributor?

Other issue is low oil pressure. The engine was sealed incorrectly overywhere but not gushing. The oil pump seems ok and I don't see any obvious issues. Any thoughts on why?

Thanks guys

Well after further reading I'm guessing the pump wasn't primed correctly. I'm sure of that in fact. Going to installed new gears and spring with the jelly and see what happens.
