1992 defender 200tdi hard to start heavy white smoke pours out of exhaust lumpy and wont rev for about 2 minutes after i get revs the smoke slows. but it is like fog for several minutres after this the smoke slows and after driving for abour 1/2 mile landrover drives like normal.
Engine rebuilt 6000 miles ago. Have fitted new turbo cartridge complete and overhauled injectors. Think fuel renrichment on start up

 

Billy where are you located, try and find a land rover mechanic that knows Tdi's.

Defendersource is a better place for technical advice on defender.

 

Thanks DavC have already asked with no real help to solve the problem. Thought someone out there may have experienced the same problem, before i remove the injector pump rfor overhaul.

 

Try Naplm00 on defendersource, he has seen a few of these I think
