Default Defender 90 motors

hello all,
I have done some searching on here for an answer and I think im ending up more confused. Im looking at getting a Defender 90 pickup or county/hardtop and importing it to Canada. My question is on motors. It looks like there is a variety of motors depending on the year. I am in canada so it must be at least 15 years old. I would be using the truck as a daily driver and no off roading. Just city and highway. What motors are best for this type of driving? it doesnt need to be fast (i currently drive a 1600cc japanese mini truck) just good enough to keep up with traffic. I guess it all boils down to what years of motor is generally the most trouble free and is best for just city/highway driving. Im currently looking at this one on eBay

i think you could do better with 18k than a truck that has already had the frame repaired in several sections. JMHO

The gas engines are fine as long as you maintain them and the cooling system. The diesels get better mileage and are very solid as well. It just depends on what you would prefer. Diesel slow and steady, petrol a lot faster a bit more fun...
