Post Defender door woes

G'day people.
My old Defender has spent most of its life on the Norwegian Coast. The doors (amongst other things) are totally stuffed. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket galvanized doors? I need to source some, starting with the rear, and find a way to have them shipped to Norway. Any brilliant ideas or info out there? Thanks in advance.

Look on the Rovers North
or the Euro market doors are surprising cheap there, but shipping could be costly depending on your location

Are you talking one piece doors with roll up windows? If so, the latest "puma" defender, 2007+ has much improved doors. There are places in the UK (and some resellers here in the US) that have NTO, new take off, doors that were removed from brand new defenders that were converted to other uses, such as soft tops or military use maybe.

Here is an example of a place here in the US: NTO Front Doors - Defender Source

I'd imagine they'd be a bit cheaper in Europe.

SP also sells new doors, both Puma style and the older style, but with galvanized frames:

By 'stuffed' do you mean they are rusted out? What does 'stuffed' mean? There are places that will dip sheet metal (or any metal) in a bath and remove ALL (and I mean ALL) rust. That provides a good base to repair what you have.

Stuffed generally means trashed. Being in Norway I'm not sure which way the shipping will be worse but the cost of the doors is lower in Europe.

There are even a few options for fiberglass units.

Hi,
I have fitted a new one piece galvanised rear door to my TD5 year 2000 and it is great.
It was a direct replacement for my broked two peice door.
I purchased from a company advertising in Landrover International and the Guy called William (scouser!) was a real help.
Hope this helps a little.
Bill.
