Default Help! 2004 Defender 110 water ingress issues

Hi all... newbie here. Got some water ingress issues and hoping to get some tips here. Thanks in advance.

My 2004 110 td5 from Dubai ...it is my dream car :-)

I accidentally found the water ingress issue when I was putting on the light guards and was trying to see where are the screws for the lights etc.. then I saw the water. Now it all makes sense ... last year I felt the back trunk carpet was a bit wet/ damp.

Anyhow... please see the pics and please let me know what sealant best to use so it does not harden and dry up. To get it fixed properly, its gonna be costly. I spoke to a 110 specialist shop and they estimated around $4000 ( Canadian ) taking off the roof, side panels, new foam seals etc etc etc

I am looking to seek alternate less costly ways. I did see someone on Youtube DIY with Sikaflex.

Thanks gents and hope to get some great help here!!

Bruce

Sikaflex works really well in my experience with our travel trailer. I wouldn't be afraid to give that a go to seal it up.

Blew the picture up the best l could and the seal looks pretty new/good shape. But the gap looks a bit wider towards rear of panel. Me, l'd remove interior panels and tighten bolts that hold panels to tub.
