Should I bother?
Hi All
I am new to this forum but have hit on hard times with my much loved Landy! I have been told that I need a new chassis on my 2002 110 TD5. I am a novice when it comes to Landrovers - I just know that I love it! I have had mixed feedback from garage and am just wondering if it is worth the spend! Any help would be greatly received.

I guess a lot would depend on the condition of the rest of the vehicle. How are the doors, bulkhead, panels and interior? Also, there will be the proverbial "rabbit hole" that comes along with the frame swap (suspension parts, bushings, etc). Plus, if you're paying to have it done...then that adds to the total cost substantial. If doing it yourself, most times, you can dink around with a problem area, removing a difficult/frozen/rusted part and save buying additional parts...whereas...a shop will just whack the part off and tell you that you need a new one.
Tough call, but if you have any emotional ties to it...like passed down through the family or you just love it...l say go for it. It's only money.
Brian.
