Our 2001 td5 has no engine dash lights - headlights dash light is working, but no engine related lights. I think we might have an ignition switch problem - that is the switch assembly on the rear of the ignition barrel - question is whether it is possible and advisable to attempt to remove this while the barrel is still in place ? - i understand these barrels have anti-tamper screws and are difficult to remove so removing the switch assembly only, inspecting & replacing is my plan. I'm in an isolated location without auto electrical in person support. thanks
