I know there are import restictions but I do not know what years are allowed and what is not.
The labor rate at that place is less than $48 an hour according to their site, plus they sell parts and other items they remove from what they work on.
The other site I just listed says they took over a former military base with all those buildings and facilities. Their inventory is mind-boggling, up in the thousands of vehicles, trailers , and all sorts of things.

Going with a good solid one makes a lot more sense than buying a lot of the used ones we see in the US with multiple problems.
At least all of these were maintained better. And built very solidly.
The fire trucks from England are usually low miles due to the smallness of their villages and such compared to what we drive annually in this country.
And the Dutch Army, those probably never saw any combat duty being Dutch.

When John imported his, they had on-line real-time tracking of the container ship it was on. He had to have a Customs Inspection at the Port of Baltimore for them to release it. He said it was worth every cent of what he paid. How many of our Noobie Disco Buyers can make that claim?

If it's newer it has to be on the approved list, and everything has to be updated to comply. So for example, if the 1993 110 was on the list, it would have to be updated to comply with 1993 regulation, so essentially it would have to be converted to a 1993 NAS Defender, including the full external roll cage and probably the V8 engine. Rumors are that the 300tdi was approved for import in 1993, but never imported in any actual 1993 110's, but I've never seen any proof. I've hear that importers that convert cars to comply charge CRAZY amounts of money.

Any of the bigger outfits that sell them do take care of all the shipping detail. You basically pick the most convienent international port near you and they determine the shipping cost and add that to the sell price.
John had said the biggest thing was that you have to hire an escort approved to accompany you onto the Quarantine area. Customs has the option of either accepting the paperwork or doing additional inspection/verification.
Anyone interested should inquire with a couple of those outfits that specialize in the sale of the ExMODs.
If you do a search on Fort Pitt Land Rover Group (FPLRG.org) I think it is, John is one of the main guys in that group. He had some of the details written up on their forum.
John is Freelander02.
Here is their site:

His is the vehicle at the top of the Series page. His is a 1980 but looks new!

I'd suggest calling one of the guys that regularly imports parts from the UK, like rovahfarm.com or ptschram or will tillery or someone, and see if they can get you a good price for something after market on their next order.
Or maybe someone would want to trade your hard top for their soft top.
