Default Ellie's welcome home detail

We purchased this 2004 Disco sight unseen from a reputable dealer in Oregon. Although it arrived in decent shape cosmetically, there is a ton of room for improvement. Here goes.

Decontamination using Iron X lemon scent. It still smells terrible btw.

Thanks. I'll have to break out the actual computer.

Back to the detail. After I decontaminated the paint it was on to a foam cannon soak and clay mit.

Clay mitt? They make a clay mitt?!

And here I am, still dicking around with a clay bar. :-/

On to the polish. I used a Rupes bigfoot orbital and a combination a meguires and menerza compounds and polishes. The clear was surprisingly soft and I was able to move on to the fine polishing after two or three passes.

Because Ellie is being kept outside, I decided to try a new generation of ceramic coating. I chose Blackfire crystal coat based on some positive reviews and a reasonable price. It was very easy to work with and I was blown away by the shine. It beads water like nothing I've ever used.

This thing changed my life. I was pretty skeptical but it got great reviews over on the Autopia forums.

On to the interior (following a chicken break). Overall everything was in pretty good shape, just dirty. I used DP's interior cleaner on the carpets and headliner and Einszett cockpit on all the plastics. I also pressure washed and treated the floor mats. I finished up with Leatherique leather cleaning system. It was 98 degrees and sunny which is perfect weather for the cleaner to do its work (kicked the hell out of me though).
