Default 1995 Discovery-- wrong MAF sensor??

Checked the number on the Fuel Inj Corp installed by PO or "mechanic"-- 165575-- reference from supplier says its for 2.0 VW, and the correct one for my truck should be their #460618. I assumed its new and proper and good-- but ?? Interchangeable?

Not sure if the 3.9 MAF is different than the 4.0 or not, but yours looks way different from the one on my '99 D1. Mine is black plastic.

From what I find in other postings + online, the '94- '95 Discovery shares MAF w/ '88 to '95 RRC and similar age Jaguars. Will call the Fuel Injection Corp in the a.m. and see whether the one on my Landy is appropriate or not.

yes....the '94-'95 s are different than the 96 and up........yours "looks" as it should ....but I cant speak as to the part # they are using.....you have what is refered to as a "14CUX" fuel injection system.....96 and up to early 99 are "GEMS"

The MAF in your pic looks correct (at least from the outside) for a '95 DI w/ 3.9 liter.
The Land Rover part number is ERR5198. It looks like AB sells this as a Reman #ERR5198K.

The part numbers from Fuel Injection Corp are their internal #s. And you "assumed its new...", well it was at one time, but FI Corp REMANUFACTURES these parts. I know nothing of this company, but just based on how many other "applications" they have listed wrong (for LR and other makes) on their website, that looks like a 5th grader made it......Good Luck. >>> Fuel Injection Corporation

Did get hold of FI Corp this a.m. Very polite, said yes this is the correct one etc. (After finding a wrong distrib, junkyard inertia switch that was inop, and not knowing the MAF story, I trust very little of the work done previously on my truck.) Bought a fuel pressure kit today, and will test pressure before during after and later. Also poured in the Seafoam cleaner.

Slap on a Chevy fuel pump. I'm using a Delphi unit I got from Auto Zone in my 98 D1. It's been in there nearly 2.5 years now. When I tore my original apart the fuel sock that mounts to the pump was completely in about 10,000,000 pieces. Whole install took me maybe 1hr from start to finish. I've seen pictures where people cut out the floor or remove interior trim, but I just removed the rear door/carpet finisher, and was able to pull the carpet up and out enough to get to the pump.

Bought a fuel pressure tester at Harbor Freight for $19.99-- works w/ schrader valve type vehicles, not Bosch tho. Hooked it up, pressure jumped to 33-34# immediately w/ key to position 2. Backed off to 32#, did key on again, up to 34# and held. BUT: after 1/2 hr, its down to 22#. Likely leaking past injectors into cylinders, causing the hard start? ps-- new oil has a gasoline smell to it. After 1 hr, holding at 20#.
