Have you used the search function? This has been covered in many threads already.

If you go the GM fuel pump replacement route (Airtex 3270 ?) be careful about using good hose and clamps in the fuel pump assembly that goes in the tank. I know from personal experience that the ends can split or blow off. If this happens, the pump will run, but the fuel won't get out of the tank. Just a friendly hint.

Put a big flathead screwdriver on one of the ridges and tap the butt end with a hammer till it loosens up.

From the RAVE electrical manual, under instruments (you know you want your own copy):

When the fuel tank level is low, the resistance of the
fuel gauge sender is approximately 245 ohms. As the
fuel level increases, the resistance of the sender
decreases, causing the gauge to register the change.
When the fuel tank is full, the resistance of the sender
is approximately 19 ohms. When the fuel gauge
sender’s resistance falls below approximately 25
ohms (6 liters/1.5 US gallons), the fuel warning light

will illuminate to warn the driver .

Note to others, that fuel light comes on at 1.5 gallons, and you are 35 miles to next gas station......

Fuel line and fuel line clamps. When you replace the plastic straw with the fuel line don't make it too long. The pump assembly will compress a bit on installation and you don't want the new hose kinking.
