Thanks. 2 steps forward, 1 step back.
I got 4 new lug nuts in the mail today. Some were boogered up so I wanted to replace those. Also, I was able to get the door key made from a broken one. Years ago, the key was broken off in the ignition and a new ignition needed to be found. The new ignition had a different key. The locksmith was able to make a new key by mounting both pieces in their vice, then cutting a match. I got lucky and it worked. I don't want to leave this thing unlocked all the time.

All good above but then i found the transfer case to be leaking at 2 bolt holes after I just drained and filled it. I tried like hell to get the inspection cover off in order to re-seal it, however, it was stuck on there really good. The only way to get this FRC 5415 transfer case off will be to break it. Then I can re-seal it around the bolt holes. Does anyone know where I can find an FRC 5415? It was on all Disco1 and 2s with that LT230 transfer case.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I should have clarified. I'm looking for a case cover in the US. There are tons 5,000 miles away in the UK.

Permatex Right Stuff has a 200psi shear strength? I don't want to glue it on nearly as tight as it is. Regular RTV can do the trick. If the thing wasn't glued on so dam hard right now, I would have gotten it off and re-sealed it without a problem.

Regular RTV usually ends up leaking again.

Try Paul Grant for a used cover.

Click this: Paul Grant

Regular RTV is crap, imho. The Right Stuff is far better. Hell, I have even made crude o-rings with it before.

Thanks. I sent Grant a message to his Gmail.

I greased the 6 zerks last night. Maybe that will help with some driveline clunk. I've yet to learn what is an acceptable amount and what is excessive. Then I need to learn where the play exists and determine feasibility of that whole possible project.

Until then, I ordered a Hi Lo Converter in an attempt to remove the aftermarket Sony stereo head-unit buzzing. It's the whine or buzz in the radio that increases in pitch as the alternator rotational speed increases.
