Default 1998 Discovery ! fuel pump options

So I have read that the AC/Delco EP241 or the AirTex 3270 are viable replacements for my current non-working model. The posts I read were rather old and I was wondering if this still holds true. Your input is greatly appreciated but also excuse any forum etiquette I may have bruised up. Not used to asking for help which is one of my many faults.

AEL D1 complete fuel pumps are around 150.00, or yes you can just swap the actual pump/sock inside the assembly. If I'm not mistaken a 98 Corvette fuel pump drops right in. Last one I swapped was on my 98 D1 and it was a Delphi unit.

Thanks for your reply, Mr. Eastwood (always been a fan by the way). Just trying to keep from ending up with 6 different versions and none of them adapt.

Gotcha & no problem. Ebay pump kits usually have the pump, sock, hose, and the pump electrical connector if different.

Do you think the different flow rates come into play?

Last weekend I replaced an AEL pump with MPE16008 pump and S13002 filter from oreilly. original application is 95 vette with the regular 5.7, not the oddball engine they had that year.

The sock filter works, but it is shorter than the correct one. I was in a hurry since it was holding me up from new engine break in (old pump only got up to 30 psi)

woks fine. fuel gauge shows rail is at 36 psi with engine off just like it should. If I ever run out of things to do I'll pull the pump and put the correct sock filter on it.
