Default 2.5na conversion into '96 Disco???

Anybody know if an '88 Defender 2.5 na will swap into '96 r380? If possible, I know I'll have to change to short bell house, input shaft and slave cylinder push rod among other mods...my question is about bell house bolt pattern and 4.0 gearing and if not, will or can an lt77 be fitted?

I cannot answer your questions from an experienced vantage but I do know there was a 2 liter DOHC fitted to the ROW Disco's I've seen in Asia and Australia. I would stick with the LT77, keep it as simple and straight forward as possible. What are you going to do about the dash card?

By "dash card" I will assume you're referring to the Vin/emissions?

Uh, no. I was asking the simple question like have you thought about how to make the dials, gauges and idiot lights work........ Your answer was Capt'n Morgan wrestling with Jack and Coke. Funny. Have you thought about taking a vacation anytime soon?

Was going to have a garage sale yesterday and found out I have to rent my garage from the city to "legally " do it. Talk about "a straw snapping a 🐪 's back". What's a vacation?
The engine is completely mechanical, dash will not be needed. I'm going to gut it, flatten it with Diamond plate and add all the mechanical gauges I can find. Don't think I'll be able to keep the AC so all that will go too (toggle the fan for defrost) Using my phone now for the speedo but probably will replace it with a high end Garmin.

Sounds like a huge mess but I am curious what you end up with
