Default 4.6 cam in 4.0

What does it take other than the cam? Anything else?

I would replace the lifters when you do it. Also inspect the pushrods closely for any wear. If your bearings are ok, should go right in... Don't think you have to swap springs.

I haven't done one, but Mike knows people who have. PM him and ask if he doesn't respond here. Post the results here if you do the swap.

A 4.6 cam will make a nice improvement in your low end.

Never use used lifters on a new cam or new lifters on a used cam.. Youll wipe the lobes right off the cam due to wear differences. You should always replace them together as a set. I wiped out too many cams trying to cut corners and save a dollar or two but it always come back to bite me later. The only exception is if you have roller lifters but these motors dont have them.

Do you use a cam out of an '03-'04 Disco or one for a p38 RR 4.6 with gems? Or either?

Same engine, same cam, only difference is the engine management system, Bosch or GEMS, everything else is the same.
