you bought a conversion yoke too right? bc you can bolt up a u joint anywhere on your rear axle...

Pretty much got the shaft w u joint on one side and yoke w mount on the other side.

It will not work you need the pinion yoke for the diff to replace the rotoflex one you have on the diff now

Feel really dumb asking but what exactly do you mean? What's he difference of rotoflex and pinion yoke I need.

The pic you showed of the diff is 3 bolt for a piece of rubber used in place of u joint on some years

If the replacement shaft has u joints on both ends you will need a u joint type yoke for the diff

I will also recommend you check the fluid level in rears and transfer case

I just did the fluid change on both diffs and transfer case.

This is what used to be on the diff end

Land Rover Discovery 1 Rotoflex Rear Driveshaft Coupling 94 95 96 97 98 99 | eBay

You need a u joint flange for diff to use with the shaft you bought, he states for use in a rotoflex d1 you need the flange

You will need this

Land Range Rover Classic Discovery Defender Differential Driveshaft Flange Kit | eBay


You need to be sure all these u joints are good or replace them on the drive shafts you are installing or end up back where you started
