Houston is a good sized city - might want to check some other prices from various indy shops. Miles are way low on that vehicle, may have had the dash cluster swapped out. Having lived on FM1960 back in the 80's, I can't see how you could go anywhere and keep the counter that low. Now the 1800 is a fair price, but in today's market you might find some variation.

1800 sounds like a good price, but does that include head work ? When I did my head gaskets I took the heads to a machine shop and they made sure they were flat, checked the valve springs (and shimmed a couple), ground the valve seats, replaced the valve seals and cleaned everything like new. The shop charged me something like $250. It's well worth it if you have the heads off (IMHO).
