Default 96 D1 Engine turns over but will not startup

Can someone please point me in the right direction. My 96 D1 will turn over but not start. I have reset the inertia switch but still no luck. Are there other reset switches. Thanks for the advice.

Check fuel pressure at the rail if it's low try changing fuel filter if there is none get your self a meter and check your fuel pump.

Try popping the battery for like 5 seconds and then crank. It could be an alarm spider issue like my truck has. Every once in a while I have to pop the battery or it will crank until the battery dies.

Edit: To be more specific, reset the negative lead.

I am having the same problem with my -95 Discovery - cranking but not starting.

What does "POP the battery" mean?

And what does "reset the negative lead" mean?

Thanks.

So, my lady, for my edification - as one who is still learning American English - please share a little of your ageless and kind wisdom of this big land's semantic culture with this man who has fallen in love with the western slope of Colorado and wishes to make this his new homeland, and possibly when I visit a Parts store I can say to the salesman: "wellhell dude, I even popped that goddam British Rover's baddery but the darn thing just keeps on turnin' over an' over with no sparkin' or even startin' to start."

Oh dear sir.. I am so sorry if I have offended you in any shape, manner or form. You are too generous to call my wisdom ageless and kind and for that I thank you. Unfortunately I consulted my magic eight ball again and the reply is 'Better not tell you now'.

Don't fret.. this lady's wisdom is unassuming, endless and loves to keep giving..

Welcome to America - Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!
