Default '96 SD Questions

Ok I haven't posted much on here as the Land Rover that recently came to be in my possession was originally my wife's. I had an '87 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which I had done a complete drive train rebuild on, that I sold and bought her a van and then I've taken the rest of the money to put into the Land Rover for me. So I'm not new to this but not seasoned either. First off I've kept the truck serviced but I've noticed since I started driving it, it seems to be a bit sluggish. Is this something to do with the fact that she always put regular in it cause it's cheap . Part of the reason I bought her a van and took over the Land Rover. So how do I reverse the damage done? Is it going to be something simple or am I looking at a huge overhaul here? The motor doesn't knock, ping, clatter, or make any other odd noises. Another thing I know isn't helping the issue is the O2 sensors need to be replaced, which I've already got them on order, could they be the source of the sluggishness? So right now my main goal is getting it running good and then it'll be time for mods . I'm thinking about 2" of lift with some decent heavy duty bumpers and a safari rack . Anyways any help on this issue would be appreciated.

A good tune up would be where I started. New plugs, wires, fluids, a tank of premium with a can of sea foam. And start running 15w-40 Rotella. I also have a safari rack for sale....just saying. And prob a set of OME springs and Nitrocharger shocks here soon.

I did a tune-up when I first got the truck a year ago, Plugs, wires, fliters, etc... I followed the recommended service for high mileage Disco's in the tech section. Do you think I need to do another one. Just wanting to clarify. I've already filled it with non-ethanol premium, we have one station in town that still sells it, with some seafoam so I already have that covered. I would love to buy the safari rack and suspension from ya but unfortunately I only have $500 to work with so maintenance is a first, upgrades come with what's left.

Have you replaced the fuel filter? That won't hurt. Check engine light?

Get used to the sluggishness, rovers will go anywhere, just not quickly.

I replaced the fuel filter when I did the tune-up last year. I have one on order when it gets here I'll replace it. Unfortunately Land Rover parts aren't real available since we lost the dealership. I kind of figured I was just use to the power my AMC 360 powered Grand Wag had and need to just readjust. However yesterday I did an oil change, cleaned out the air box and intake tube, and put in a new air filter. I felt a noticeable difference there. I'm going to do an induction cleaning and change the plugs after I do the cleaning and see what I get there. The Land Rover has 135k on it so I'm trying to do some refreshening on it. Hopefully I'm going in the right direction.

She will never feel like the 360 Grand Wag. If you put bigger tires on your in for a real treat!
