Default 97 disco abs light

I have tried every combination of getting the flash code to go. It won't, pulled every relay that I have searched and found to be the abs light relay. None turn it off. Also the abs functions fine. I would like to reset the warning light but it doesn't respond to 5/15 jumper. Just stays lit all the time. Any ideas?

Did you turn the ignition to pos II while the pins are jumped/prior to jumping the pins? As far as you know the ABS is working but I've replaced the ABS ECU for hard fault which worked with the wheel sensors but failed to remain inactive when not needed.

Yes I jumpered the pins first and then turned it to pos 2. Maybe the ecu is bad but they worked great on wet grass and don't seem to be malfunctioning. hows this for ya. With the abs computer unplugged and the relay for the lamp pulled it is still on. As far as I can tell in the rave schematics there is nothing else that should be grounding it to turn it on. Short in the wire?

No blinks at all just steady on.

NOTE: If warning lamp has indicated a
fault in system, and no fault code has been
stored in memory, cause of fault is:

a) Failure in electrical supply
b) Bad ECU ground
c) Faulty warning light relay
d) ECU not connected

There you have it, it's on because it's not grounded.

Have you taken the circuit board out of the cover yet to check it for shorts or corrosion?

I had read that in the rave also. The ground to the ecu and relay are good so I will pull the ecu and check for problems in there. Looks like it has a little rust on the mounting bolts, maybe got wet at some point.

I believe mine was doing something similar (a long time ago) so I replaced it with one from Paul Grant and it's been working correctly since. The difference is it gave a blink code and told me it was the ECU - catastrophic fault, replace ECU. The light never went out even with codes cleared.

my ABS would activate just about every time I tried to stop. I finally disconnected it so I could have usable brakes. Light has been on for almost 3 years, a little black tape helps for night time driving.

Fixed it. Seems that the area where the ecu sits got wet at some point. Quite a bit of corrosion inside the connector. Cleaned up and everything is working fine. Also why my cruise doesn't work. It wasn't salvageable, got a new one coming. Now on to figuring out why my dome lights flicker now and then. Got a replacement MFU coming too.
Looks like a beer can or two exploded in the glove box maybe?

My lights would flicker and I ended up replacing the alternator. problem was fixed. My guess was a bad diode in the alternator..
