Question 97 Disco Cruise ECU.......

Please forgive me if this has already been answered.... I searched but did not see it.

My question is this.......I see where folks are sending their ECU's off to be repaired......but does anyone know exactly what the repair consists of ?

I am pretty handy with a soldering iron.....didn't know if the repair was similar to the rear window ecu circuit board resolder or not ?

Thanks,

From past experience with PC boards, each circuit can be tested for failure or defects. Each component in that circuit can be tested for failure or defects. I'm sure they are connected to a host and supplied with voltage values which in turn are then scanned for error. Are you expecting trouble with your ECU?

Yes Doug, the repair for the CC ECU is pretty much the same as the Window ECU except the plug is easier to remove

Lightly re-flow all the points on the back of the board. these boards were just born bad... but fixable.

Well....I have eliminated vacumn lines, brake switch, dash switch and fuses. Since it works intermittently.....and from what i have read on here.....I am deducing it is the ECU.
