Default 97 Discovery need expansion tank for coolant, matching year/models?

I just bought a 97 Discovery 1 and it overheated today and when I got out the expansion tank had sprung a leak. I'm hoping i didn't ruin the engine as the red light came on despite the dash needle staying at 8 o'clock. My question is this, my local Pik n pull has a 96 & 99 Discovery 1 would like to know if I can use either model years and pull one from them. Obviously, if it looks like the same one I can use it but just want to confirm that one of them will work. I will replace my thermostat just in case (using the 180) that I've seen posted here in the forum. Any chance that I did serious damage? I only drove less than a mile once the light came on and I drove with the heat on HI. I still had fluid in but I had lost a fair amount. thank you.

If the 99 is a D1 you are good on both. Avoid the black tanks as they are prone to failure. The white ones are the ticket. If you are interested I have a white one for sale. PM me for details.

got the one from the junkyard and it's the white one. Holds pressure and hasn't overheated yet. Thanks for the help.
