I've decided to keep this thing as is for the time being. I took a week off from using it as a daily and drove it today and everything seems tolerable but it's almost comical how dumb little things break as soon as I touch them (visor clips, headrests, door handles etc)
The previous owner did a lot of half arsed rigging so it's probably easier to get a shell and swap the good stuff over . Not that I can't fix it, but it's just not worth the time with a 17 month old and another on the way.
As with my other Discovery, I need to remember that it isn't a living creature so there comes a point where it's simply not worth pumping the money into something when better candidates are a dime a dozen out there . I'd much prefer one with a single major problem like an engine or tranny than one with a ton of little ones that has a terrible interior, needs bodywork etc
