It lives about a mile from me. Guy bought it for $2500 and has restored it, now has the long aerial and tie down, it came with the HF radios. He had it sanded down to aluminum skin (13 coast of paint including 3 coats of green latex house paint). Lots of help from the Rovers North catalog. He is stationed at a local Army base.

Well it looks like he's done a gem of a job on that! Looks mint, far from a $2500 vehicle. Was it a 24v?

Don't see how that top can keep water out.

Looks cool on a military Series. On Discos & Ranges... not so much.

For 10.5 buy a disco, chop the top off...if you screw it up buy another disco and chop the top off again. Then pay someone to weld a cage into it and stitch a top.

It's interesting, and if I was still in San Diego it would be a feasible option. I wouldn't pay 10k for it, though. Especially since I'd have to get another top in black...not a fan of the tan.

yep, that is the SWMBO ride, plus he has a camoed up JAP mini-pretend Jeep. His base is Ft Stewart, 3rd ID, a lot of tough determined guys and gals that go to bad places to do bad things to bad people.

That top looks like the same sort of all weather clear plastic zip on rain skin for my golf carts. Can't imagine what that will do at 70 mph in the rain.
