Default 98 Disco Non-Stock Stereo Removal

Hey guys,

Before I begin its important I disclaim that I am a super-noob when it comes to cars. I don't really know ****.

Anyways, I am being forced to sell my 98 disco. She was my first car and was the main reason I fell in love with Land Rovers. Unfortunately, the fuel pump has gone bad on top of a few other issues and its too expensive to fix.

I had a company remove the stock stereo system (bypassed the amp) and install a Kenwood deck I bought online. It has bluetooth and all that. I want to remove this before I sell the car. I was wondering if this is something I can do myself. As someone that knows nothing about cars, can I easily remove the stereo from my rover? If so, are there any videos/guides to help me? Im very DIY orientated so I think I can get it done, I am just hoping for some guidance.

Thanks everyone,
Sean

How much was the head unit? Having a gaping hole in the dash will probably take away more from the value of the truck than it would cost to buy a new radio.

What else is wrong with the truck.
A non-runner(fuel pump) isn't going to fetch more than $700 I'd say.

I do have the stock stereo system, but I wouldn't know how to go about re-installing it. And the truck still runs, I just don't know for how long. The fuel pump could go out tomorrow for all I know. I have to floor it just to get the car started.

I also don't have space for her anymore, so she's gotta go. I know I won't get much but I was hoping for 1000-1500.

Your fuel filter might need replacing. You can splice in a generic for about $10 and would greatly help your resale value if you don't have to coax it into starting.
