Default '98 disco - suspension w/out lift

Hello all, like everyone I've been spending time and money into the disco and keeping her rolling.

Recent engine, transmission and body work aside I added an ARB bull bar (no winch, potentially in the future), FirstFour on the back and RRC sliders from RN.

As the suspension is factory from all the way back I am in the market for a replacement system. I don't know a lot other than the Driving is rough right now. Seems a bit rougher than '01 say, when I picked her up. Guessing that is normal wear and tear. Disco has never been a light truck but with the added lbs I am thinking I should be proactive here. I understand there is more to consider around steering, and I'm sure other areas of safety, around suspension.

My goal is sustained garage parking in the city. I prefer be able to drive into at least 50% of garages and I believe with the available suspension kits, a lift is required?

Is there a way I can increase the ride quality on and off road without grabbing all that lift? Typically a garage has 2-3 inches clearance over the stock rover + stock roof rack. I have no roof rack per se, expedition style or otherwise and don't plan on it given my interest in keeping clearance as low as possible. Any thing I haven't thought of and advice is much appreciated!

Thanks,
-Adam

Yes, HD stock height springs are available. Talk to Justin at Lucky8, he'll get you squared away.

Get shocks too unless they were done, you may also want to consider a urothane bushing set, lots of weight on beat bushings

My rover fit in the local hospital garage with 2" lift when I still had the 235 tires on not sure now with the 245 tires

You can do an OME 1 5/8" lift. I have one with stock 235/70/16s and I think it looks good. I still fit into all the Parking garages.

That's so the sun doesn't fade the paint on our cars...

I guess I meant parking structures, like at the mall where we buy our overpriced nonfat no foam lattes and debate same sex marriage, the benefits of Yoga, and the high price of organic produce!

Well, my truck is just tall enough to run over the parking blocks when I'm buying groceries!
