My mechanic's scanner identifies which wheel is generating a fault. It also shows the pulses from the sensors as the wheels turns.

Maybe try disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor plugs (especially front). One might have come loose or got corroded.

That is not a 'bad sensor' code. If that were the case you would have a ABS light on the dash. This from page 143 of the gems_obd manual.

3.25.1 Description
1. Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
ABS - rough road signal line permanently at ground or open circuit P1317
ABS - rough road signal line permanently at 12V P1318
The ABS (where fitted) or rough road detection control module uses all four wheel speed signals to determine if the vehicle is on a surface liable to
give false indication of misfire. This is signalled to the ECM, which disables misfire detection under these conditions the. The diagnostic checks the
integrity of the link by confirming the line switches high / low.
Though the Defender doesn’t have ABS, wheel sensors and a special ABS Control Module are fitted to provide a rough road signal.

look for the “blink code procedure” on this forum to read the codes from the ABS computer

Help. I just tried the ABS 5 15 pin method to figure out the ABS fault. It did not turn off the ABS light after 5 seconds. I tried copper 14 gauge wire and 18 gauge copper wire. and then I tried a paper clip just to try steel. Any thoughts on why it will not start the fault read process? thanks rich

If there are multiple codes you need to start the process after each blink code is finished. I think I use something like 18-20 gauge wire. That part doesn't matter.

Record it with your phone. It is easy to lose count.

The fault won't be cleared unless you pull the jumper off while the truck ignition is still in position II.
