Default ac charging help

So im trying to charge up the ac system after the rubber hose on the high side sprung a leak by running against the fan belt (long story)
here is what ive done.

1) hooked up high side and low side to a manifold. verified that both sides were open and pulled a vacuum at 27 inhg for well over an hour.
2) locked in the vacuum by closing the ports.
3) add 3oz of pag 46 to the vacuum line while slowly opening the low side port to suck it in.
4) closed the ports again
5) started the car and tuned on the AC
6) attached R134a can to the vacuum line and opened the low side port (after breifly bleeding the vacuum line of air
7) got high pressure until the clutch kicked in then got 20psi
8) I DONT SEE ANYTHING RUNNING THROUGH GLASS BUBBLE. The manifold is just sitting at 30psi low and 125psi high.
I did briefly open the high side a bit saw lots of action in the bubble...but thats suppose to stay closed.

any suggestions? I did shut it down and dis connected the low side from the car port and got a quick hisss as the schrader valve closed so I think that fine. Not sure what to do from here.
This is my first time doing this so just not sure. I went through 2 cans that was weighing 575g and ran it down to 375g but again, no action in the bubble, the can did frost on the outside and with an ambient temp of 67, the ac is now blowing 47. I know the system was empty cause the high side line blew and shot freon, oil and uv all over the engine. again, if someone could give me some guidance id appreciate it

Update: I said screw it and pulled the low off and just figured it would bleed out and I would have to start over. After bleeding for maybe 3 seconds the schrader valve popped back into place which closed everything off. AC is blowing at about 52 now. I think Im gonna hook up the manifold again this morning and try to fine tune the AC by pressure....if i can figure it out.

OK. Here's the little I know (I'm no expert).

First if you get cold air, that's the bottom line. Second, if the system is completely charged, the sight glass should stay clear (full of fluid). When the charge gets low, that's when bubbles appear. Third, you may have missed an opportunity to replace the schrader valves. My mechanic says they are the main leak point for old systems. Hopefully this is helpful. Good luck.

Yeah, i kind of gathered that I should have done the valves now, but I had no idea at the time. The video i watched on how to recharge was so well put together I just did exactly what he said. anyway, Ill update the thread on how I finished
